Dr. Adeoye Taiye Olushola

| Adeoye Taiye Olushola is an Exploration Geophysicist in the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Dr. Adeoye had his first degree in Geology and an M.Tech and a PhD degree in Geophysics, respectively. He has an academic career spanning more than 12 years of university teaching, research, and administrative experience. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department, where he has taught and continues to teach a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has supervised numerous research projects, including several B.Sc. projects, three MSc students, and has co-supervised a PhD student. He has been actively involved in departmental, faculty, and university-led initiatives. His specializations include petroleum exploration, seismic imaging, seismic data processing, energy resource mapping and environmental geophysics. He is also actively engaged in different ongoing research focused on applying machine learning techniques to reservoir geophysics, environmental geophysics, and the unconventional analysis of Earth structures. Dr. Adeoye has published extensively in reputable national and international journals and has presented at major scientific conferences. He is a co-author of a book on ‘Sequence Stratigraphy’. He has led student teams to several prestigious accolades as a committed mentor and advisor, including multiple awards in the Basin Evaluation Competition (BEC) and the Imperial Barrel Award (IBA). He holds membership of professional bodies such as the Nigeria Mining and Geoscience Society (NMGS), Nigeria Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), and Society of Geophysicists and Computational Geoscientists (SGCG). He is actively engaged in curriculum development, quality assurance, and community service. |
